"Career exploration is a life long process."

Step 1

   Get to know yourself.  Take interest assessments/aptitude tests such as Career Cruising and ASVAB.  Use career software.  Consider the high school classes in which you do well and like.  Look at your personality and what is important to you.

Step 2

  Explore the possibilities.  Learn about careers--what tasks are involved; what skills you need; what level of education are necessary; what is the future job outlook; what are the working conditions; what is the salary range etc.

Step 3

  Evaluate and make decisions.  Decide if the occupations you are considering, fit you.
